On Tuesday, 26 September 2023, Tulcea City Hall, together with its partner, the Bucharest National Institute for Research and Development for Environmental Protection (INCDPM), organized the second progress report for the Project ’’Elaboration of the Plan for Mitigation and Adaptation to Climate Change in Tulcea Municipality’’.
The Ministry of Environment, Waters and Forests is the Programme Operator for the “Environment, adaptation to climate change and ecosystems” (RO-Environment) Programme, Small Grants Scheme ’’Development of mitigation and adaptation plans in municipalities’’, financed through the Financial Mechanism of the European Economic Area EEA 2014-2021.
The total value of the project is 584,832 lei, and the implementation period is 12 months (November 24, 2022 – November 24, 2023).
During the event, a summary of the project was presented, there was a discussion about the contribution of each institution to the realization of the inventory of greenhouse gas emissions, the results of the questionnaires regarding the current and forecasted climate regarding climate change, the stage of the development of the mitigation and adaptation plan to climate change in Tulcea municipality within the project and examples of good practices in the field.
The representatives of the local public administration, environmental institutions, research and administration institutes of the Danube Delta, and of relevant NGOs, contributed interactively to the achievement of the objectives of the second progress workshop of the climate change mitigation and adaptation plan in the municipality of Tulcea.
