Ploiești City Hall, as a Partner, together with the Prahova County Territorial Administrative Unit, as a Beneficiary, alongside Partners Bucharest Technical University and the University of Iceland, are implemeting the project ’’Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation Plan Development in Prahova County (AtenuareClimPh)’’.
The Ministry of Environment, Waters and Forests is Programme Operator for the Programme “Environment, adaptation to climate change and ecosystems” – RO-Environment, financed by the Financial Mechanism of the European Economic Area EEA 2014-2021.
On Thursday, October 26, 2022, Ploiești City Hall organized a public awareness session on climate change adaptation solutions in Prahova – Ploiești Municipality.
The general objective of the project is to increase the capacity of Prahova County, with an emphasis on Ploiesti Municipality, to face the challenges caused by climate change and the need for adaptation, as well as the need to mitigate their effects, by integrating knowledge about this phenomenon at the local level and raising awareness among the local administration and community, thus reducing the adverse effects of pollution.
The total value of the project is 605,000.00 lei, of which the total non-refundable eligible value from the EEA FM (85%) is 514,250.00 lei and the non-refundable eligible value from the national budget (15%) is 90,750.00 lei, and the period of implementation is 12 months.
The results of the project under implementation will lead to the realization of a Climate Change
Mitigation and Adaptation Plan for the municipality of Ploiești.
The event was attended by representatives of the Petrol-Gas University of Ploiești, the Valahia
University of Târgoviște, the Romanian Commercial Bank, CECCAR Prahova, the Polytechnic
University of Bucharest and the City Hall of Ploiești.
