The project “Development of the Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation Plan

in Prahova County (AtenuareClimPh) ”

Prahova County Council, as Beneficiary, together with its partners, Ploiești City Hall, Polytechnic University of Bucharest and University of Iceland, carries out the project ,,Development of the Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation Plan in Prahova County (AtenuareClimPh)”, financed through the European Economic Area (EEA) Financial Mechanism 2014-2021.

Prahova County Council, organized on Wednesday, May 25, 2022, a workshop in order to consult stakeholders, to define issues and solutions to adapt to climate change with impact both locally and regionally.

The general objective of the project is to increase the capacity of Prahova County, with a focus on the Municipality of Ploiesti, to meet the challenges caused by climate change and the need to adapt, as well as the need to mitigate their effects, by integrating knowledge about this phenomenon locally and raising awareness among local government and community, thus reducing the adverse effects of pollution.

The total value of the project is 605,000.00 lei, of which the total eligible non-reimbursable value from the EEA FM  (85%) is 514,250.00 lei and the eligible non-reimbursable value from the national budget (15%) is 90,750.00 lei. This Project has a duration of 12 months and is funded by the Ministry of Environment, Waters and Forests, as a Programme Operator for the RO-Environment Programme, funded by the EEA Financial Mechanism 2014-2021.

The results of the project being implemented will lead to the implementation of a Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation Plan in Prahova County, respectively, for the municipality of Ploiești.

The event was attended by representatives of the Prahova Environmental Protection Agency, Apa NOVA Ploiești, Prahova County Statistics Directorate, Ploiești-Prahova Agency for Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energies, Prahova Forestry Directorate, SC Transport Călători Express, ADI Deșeuri, ADI Apă, Gaze Ploiești University, Blejoi City Hall, Bucharest Polytechnic University and Ploiești City Hall.
